Rolex’s Secret Unveiling of Exclusive ‘Off-Catalogue’ Watches for 2025

Rolex unveiled several eye-catching models that garnered significant attention. However, while enthusiasts were focused on these major releases, Rolex discreetly introduced a selection of highly luxurious and exclusive ‘off-catalogue’ pieces that flew under the radar. These rare replica watches, along with the discontinuation of certain models, added a layer of intrigue to the brand’s ever-evolving lineup.

Behind the Scenes at Watches & Wonders
Each year, the Rolex booth at Watches & Wonders is a bustling hotspot for journalists, retailers, and celebrities alike. The striking three-story gold structure dominates the event, with eager attendees trying to catch a glimpse of the latest releases. Appointments to view Rolex’s new models are coveted, but even those fortunate enough to secure one may have missed some of the brand’s most exotic additions this year.

Amid the much-talked-about releases like the titanium Yacht-Master and the gold GMT-Master II, Rolex also quietly introduced a few extravagant off-catalogue models that showcase the brand’s flair for innovation and luxury.

A Bejeweled Left-Handed GMT-Master II
Rolex introduced a stunning new version of its left-handed GMT-Master II ‘Sprite’ in 2025, now lavishly adorned with gemstones. This is believed to be Rolex’s first factory-set, gem-encrusted left-handed model. Crafted in white gold, this masterpiece features a bezel set with 18 emeralds, 18 black sapphires, and 12 diamonds. The case and lugs are adorned with 220 diamonds, and the Oyster bracelet adds another 172 diamonds. For those seeking the ultimate luxury, matching diamond-studded cufflinks are also available.

New Dazzling Daytonas
The Daytona collection saw the addition of four new gem-set models, each bringing an extravagant level of craftsmanship. Two of these models feature ruby-set bezels: one in white gold with a black dial, and the other in yellow gold with a diamond-paved dial. Meanwhile, the other two models come with diamond-set bezels, likely in platinum, distinguished by their ice-blue dial elements – Rolex’s signature color for platinum models. These watches are fitted with Oyster bracelets, with one featuring a completely ice-blue dial with diamond hour markers and the other a gem-encrusted dial with ice-blue subdials.

There are also reports of two fully iced-out Daytonas in white and yellow gold, but these models have proven elusive, with images hard to come by.

Rolex Discontinues Iconic Models
In addition to these new introductions, clone Rolex has quietly retired several beloved models in 2025. This year has seen the discontinuation of every prior Daytona and Sky-Dweller reference, making way for new iterations featuring upgraded movements. The Daytona, in particular, received a design update with a new bezel and an exhibition caseback for the platinum version. Sadly, popular versions such as the yellow gold/green dial and white gold/blue dial Daytonas, as well as all meteorite dial models, are no longer in production.

The Milgauss has also been discontinued with no direct replacement announced, sparking speculation that Rolex may reintroduce a refreshed version in 2026, which would mark its 70th anniversary. Similarly, the Cellini line has been retired, with the new 1908 model under the ‘Perpetual’ family serving as its replacement.

Rumored Discontinuations and New Models on the Horizon
Additional rumors suggest that Rolex may be discontinuing the Palm Dial variant from its Datejust collection, which was first introduced in 2025. This decision has reportedly been communicated to those on the waiting list for the model.

The Yacht-Master II, introduced in 2009, is also rumored to be on the chopping block. If true, production of all its variants, including steel, yellow, and white gold versions, may cease in 2025.

Looking ahead, Rolex is expected to introduce several new models next year. The company has registered new trademarks, including names like Space-Dweller, Land-Dweller, and Oystermatic, sparking speculation about exciting new releases in 2026.
